- Born & raised in Western Massachusetts
- Inspired by older brother Paul who was the bass player in the Dirt Road Band. Really wanted to be the keyboard player but since they already had one, I couldn’t play anyway, was left carting and setting up the equipment. Realized there was a great need for “good” sound and working functional gear thus began my life’s pursuit of happiness.
- When my brother’s band decided to record at Record Plant Studios in New York City with engineer Shelly Yakus. I found myself in the company of another young band called “The Who”. I stayed with Shelly Yakus for a few weeks and watched & learned while he recorded Alice Cooper’s Billion Dollar Babies album.
- A few years later spent some time in Florida with Jack Adams who happened to be the engineer on the Who’s next album….I learned a lot about recording techniques and dealing with musicians from him.
- During the early 1980’s, I was running a local studio in Western Mass when I had the opportunity to go on the road with Joe Cocker as his monitor engineer for 6 years traveling the world which was a big eye opener for me.
- A few years later the same opportunity came along to work with Smokey Robinson as his monitor engineer during which time I was also a repair supervisor for Sonix Pro Audio located in Sunderland Massachusetts, great experience working with Scott McArthur, learned a great deal about service and console modifications, thank you Scott.
- Moved on to work at Foxwoods Resort & Casino in Connecticut as the entertainment department’s equipment repair supervisor and worked many of the shows that came through Fox Theater and Bingo Hall supporting the staff engineers. The casino was growing at a fast pace and more wireless RF was needed….I contacted and worked with the renowned James Stoffo of Professional Wireless Systems on implementing those changes and additions. It was my first experience on the importance of frequency coordination and antenna input filtering. I learned a great deal of valuable information from James.
- Then it was on to sunny California where I had the privilege of working for one of the industries leading manufacturers…QSC Audio Products as a system specialist for the portable live sound market. I gained valuable information in the world of design and manufacturing from the conception of an idea to the release of that product. I have to thank my former boss Brian English who is now the Marketing Manager, Concert Systems at QSC Audio.
- Moved back East & worked out of my home in Goshen MA for QSC at which time the position of Market Development Manager for the Northeast Region for Sennheiser Electronic Corporation presented itself. While at Sennheiser I learned more valuable information about wireless microphone, personal in ear monitor systems and frequency coordination theory in real-world applications.
- Maintain memberships with Synergetic Audio Concepts and AES (Audio Engineering Society)
- Independent contractor with NWS Corporation for satellite plant installation services, most recently at the US Naval Base in San Diego CA
- I continue to work out of my home in Goshen Massachusetts utilizing my collective knowledge and experiences to help others achieve their professional audio goals.
